The PDP was reacting to a statement made by the APC wherein it said the main opposition party and its flagbearer, were broke, lacking the resources to fund its campaign. Spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, reacting to the statement by APC, said Nigerians had resolved to vote out the APC in 2019. He said, “APC is jittery but what is even their business about the state of our finances. “2019 is not about who has more money but about the need to rescue Nigeria. “Having seen through their lies, Nigerians have resolved to vote out the incompetent and clueless Buhari. “They can say whatever they like but our advice to them is that they should start packing their bags because their time i...

After Selling Assets, FG May Sell Nigerians As Slaves To Fund Budget - Afenifere

Image
Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan to sell public assets to fund the 2019 budget. Atiku described the plan as fiscally irresponsible, noting that it was irresponsible to sell valuable assets and then consume the proceeds. The Federal Government had announced a couple of months ago that it would raise N289 billion from the sale of 10 public assets to fund the 2019 budget. The former vice president said selling public assets would ridicule Buhari, and pointed out that some of the assets listed for sale in the policy document of Buhari’s administration were assets built or established under PDP administrations. In a statement by his Presidential Campaign Organisation on Wednesday, Atiku recalled that on Monday, October 29, 2018, while delivering the 75th Anniversary Business Lecture of the Island Club, Lagos, President Buhari accused past leaders of PDP of not building public infrastructure. Ajimobi ‘Was Paid’ $10million To Drop Tegbe For Bayo Adelabu - Sahara Reporters

Image
What really happened was that Ajimobi was supposed to settle for Tegbe. Tegbe has Itsekiri blood; he is from Delta State but he was born and bred in Oyo town,” said a Government House source. “Shortly before the primary, the likes of Otudeko, Onasanya and co mounted pressure on Ajimobi to drop Tegbe for Adelabu. Ajimobi was given $10million; that is N3.57billion. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. It is an open secret in the camp of the decision-makers of Oyo politics.” The last-minute decision of Abiola Ajimobi, Governor of Oyo State, to back Bayo Adelabu rather than Joseph Tegbe for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not without money changing hands, SaharaReporters has been told. Months before the primary election, Ajimobi egged on anyone who indicated interest in succeeding him; however, as the primary election drew near, it became apparent that he was tilting towards Tegbe over Adelabu. A source had told SaharaReporters back then: “Each time anyone went to him t...

Minimum Wage: Identities Of Anti-N30,000 States Unveiled

Image
THE country is at present sitting on industrial  powder keg over the N30, 000 new national minimum wage recommended by the Tripartite members of the National Minimum Wage Committee. No sooner had information leaked out that the committee had concluded its assignment and report ready to be sent to President Muhammadu Buhari who inaugurated the committee on November 2017, than the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting of October 10, 2018, debunked the claim that the committee was yet to arrive at a consensus figure to be recommended to the Federal Government as the new national minimum wage. Recall that the committee was inaugurated sequel to  unending pressure by Organised Labour from 2016 following the expiration of the subsisting N18,000 national minimum wage which came into effect in 2011.
